TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS: UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA DESIGNATES 10/15 AS TOM PETTY DAY

 


The UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA has designated 10/15  as TOM PETTY DAY as the Gainesville, Florida native's estate will make special capsules for charity.

 

 

 

On 10/2/2017, TOM PETTY of legendary U.S.A. rock legends TOM PETTY and THE HEART BREAKERS was found unconscious and unresponsive in his MALIBU, CALIFORNIA home and was taken to a Santa Monica hospital in cardiac arrest, as he was on life support and died after 8PM PST at 66.

According to media, autopsy and toxicology reports, TOM PETTY died of a lethal cocktail of prescription medications including Fentanyl patches, oxycodone, temazepam, alprazolam, citalopram, acetylfentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl.

To commemorate Tom’s life, the University of Florida in his hometown of Gainesville has designated this year’s UF x LSU game as the first inaugural Tom Petty Day on October 15.
UF plans to celebrate Tom Petty Day for years to come.
In honor of this, the Tom Petty Estate has collaborated with UF on a capsule collection to benefit local Gainesville charities. All Tom Petty Estate proceeds from the Tom Petty Day x Florida collection will benefit Kids Count and Family Promise.
