MORBID ANGEL: RELEASE STATEMENT ON ROOF COLLAPSE IN BELVIDERE, ILLINOIS, 4/1/2023 JOILET SHOW POSTPONED

Tampa, Florida, U.S.A. death metal legends MORBID ANGEL have posted a statement regarding last nights BELVIDERE, ILLINOIS roof collapse at the APOLLO THEATER.

MORBID ANGEL'S touring package show 4/1/2023 in JOILET, Illinois has been POSTPONED.

On 6/31/2023, the roof collapsed at a MORBID ANGEL concert at the APOLLO THEATER in BELVIDERE, ILLINOIS killing one and injuring 28, 5 seriously.

A tornado ravaged through BELVIDERE, ILLINOIS causing heavy rains and the APOLLO THEATER'S roof to collapse.

CRYPTA lost their RV in the APOLLO THEATER'S roof collapse.

MORBID ANGEL are OK.

Former MORBID ANGEL vocalist /bassist DAVID VINCENT has confirmed he is no longer in the band and replaced with former vocalist/bassist STEVE TUCKER.

Also, drummer TIM YEUNG and guitarist "Destructhor" have left MORBID ANGEL.

MORBID ANGEL have announced SCOTT FULLER (DRUMS) and DAN VADIM on second guitar.

On behalf of Morbid Angel, we want to first and foremost send our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the individual who tragically lost their life last night in the venue roof collapse due to heavy winds from a Tornado.

We lost a brother in Metal last night, and many were hurt and injured in this tragedy. We would like to express how truly thankful we are for those in attendance (Fans, Venue Staff, Bands and Crew) that assisted with getting people out and to safety. We want to thank the First responders (Fire, EMT, Police) that were on the scene quickly and were able to help in getting people out of the venue and to hospitals for treatment as quickly as possible.

YOU ARE TRUE HEROES!

At this time our minds continue to remain with all those who were injured and hospitalized, as well as everyone who was effected by the storms in the surrounding area. We truly hope for a fast recovery of all who were injured.

As a result of the events of last night, we are working to re-scheduling tonight’s show in Joliet, IL to Wednesday April 5th. With that said, our focus remains with the Victims of this terrible storm.

Our thoughts go out to everyone injured in the natural disaster that took place last night in Belvidere and we send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the person that tragically lost their life at the venue. Tonight’s show in Joliet has been postponed to Wednesday April 5th.
