Legendary music venue/club THE CHANCE THEATER (Poughkeepsie, New York, U.S.A.) is TEMPORARILY CLOSING as it has been SOLD to CHAI DEVELOPERS in AUGUST. . .
The new owners will renovate THE CHANCE THEATER and are keeping it as an entertainment space.
The last concert at THE CHANCE THEATER will be OCTOBER 28th, 2023.
FRANK PALLETT, owner of THE CHANCE COMPLEX in Poughkeepsie, New York has
passed away (8/11/2012) at 51. No cause of death has been given.
FRANK PALLETT has owned THE CHANCE since 1994 as has supported local and regional bands giving them gigs with national acts and package bills as support.
Simply put, without FRANK PALLETT and the CHANCE COMPLEX, there would be no music scene in the Hudson Valley area.
THE CHANCE has booked many indie and major national and international acts including DAVID BOWIE, BOB DYLAN, OZZY OSBOURNE, TYPE O NEGATIVE, GWAR and many more bands.
FRANK PALLETT also owned MAXIMUM FITNESS from Newburgh, New York.
THE CHANCE THEATER (POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK): is currently for sale.

"There were rumors that The Chance was going to be knocked down but, according to Blumenfeld, that couldn't be further from the truth.
Rumors that it's going to be knocked down are just rumors. It will stay The Chance.
But what the venue will look like a year from now could be very different.
There are some lofty plans for The Chance and the surrounding area that include the possibility of creating an entire entertainment district complete with a boutique hotel that shares a name with the legendary theater.
One thing that's certain is that Chai Developers is committed to keeping The Chance an entertainment venue. Although not considered a historic building, there are many historic components inside the theater that the company wants to restore while adding all of the modern features that a successful venue needs to remain successfu- Reply
