For the first time in #MxMF history, @katatoniaband will bring all its darkness and melancholy to our eighth edition.
With over three decades of trajectory and thirteen studio albums in their making, Swedes have evolved over the years from their roots in Death/Doom to a more melancholic and atmospheric sound, exploring introspective themes in their lyrics that stand out for their depth and expressiveness. His album 'Brave Murder Day' (1996) marked a turning point by introducing Mikael Åkerfeldt's (Opeth) gutural vocals, while later works such as 'Tonight's Decision' (1999) and 'Last Fair Deal Gone Down' (2001) solidified his more melodic approach.
Over time, Katatonia has continued to explore different facets of its sound, incorporating more experimental and electronic elements. The band has gained recognition for their ability to evoke intense emotions and their ability to reinvent themselves, without losing their melancholic essence.
For this and more, we are excited to have the presence of #Katatonia in #MxMFVIII, without a doubt it will be one of the most anticipated acts.

As promised, the masters of viking metal Enslaved will arrive from Nordic lands at the eighth edition of #MxMF to give us a show of alcurnia.
With over 30 years of running uphill, Norwegians have found the perfect balance between artistic evolution and staying true to themselves, demonstrating how inspired composition and musical mastery can keep their audience captivated.
Emerging in the early 90s, Enslaved has been a band ahead of their time, incorporating a visionary approach without neglecting their extreme roots. Although they emerged at the dawn of the second wave of Black Metal, they were characterized by offering a much more complex composition style, which is why they never felt satisfied being labeled under the term «Black Metal» because they considered it too limiting. Undoubtedly, Enslaved’s aesthetic has dictated change as the true constant in his music.
