In Novosibirsk last Saturday, the 29th, Yevgeny "Slade" Sevostyanov left us of his own free will. It is not possible to be prepared for the sudden departure of a person from life. This is pain and loss for friends and family. Eugene was a man with his own special and detached view of this world. For us, he is first of all a close person. But under his creative pseudonym "Slade" he is the first vocalist of Devilgroth. He was the soul of our band from its early days until 2014. Early on, he brought the flame of true Black Metal to Devilgroth. And we are immensely sorry that this flame of his died out first in music, and then in life. It was with Eugene that we decided in 2010 that we would name our style of music as Siberian Black Metal and form our own cold sound, which we would carry outside of Russia.
Then our Siberian Black Metal was needed only by ourselves in Novosibirsk. It is now possible to see these words on posters, concert announcements of a number of bands and even magazines. He spent the first, most inglorious years with us. He loved Black Metal with all his soul. There was so much we didn't have time to tell each other. You are always in the hearts of your friends! For us, you will always remain a legend of Siberian Black Metal! Sleep well, brother.
p.S. From the audio recordings with Zhenya's voice, we have only very raw demo albums until 2014. Zhenya also left a last request to release demo recordings of our parallel project Nocturnalmorg (aka Monotonic Negativel). And his favorite photo in corpspaint.
