FROM WOLVENNEST:
A few days ago, we were informed that
Dolch was canceling their participation in the tour for medical. There was no time to be sad or angry, what followed was a race against the clock to find another band. Miraculously, we managed to do it, and do it well. All the venues were contacted by Swamp Booking, and the responses from some were either a cancellation (Amstelveen P60) or a significantly reduced fee. Welcome to 2025.
It might sound cynical or pragmatic from some venues, but they have every right to make that decision.
Conclusion: it became impossible to keep the tour as originally planned—it would have simply ruined us. We found the “least bad” scenario (the worst being to cancel the whole tour). We’ll still be operating at a loss, but not to the point of making us sick. Note that some of the shows cancelled are not related to venues adapting our fee. It's related to the fact the remaining shows are now in a van and not in a nightliner. Distance and travel have been a key factor to make as much shows happening as possible.
THE FOLLOWING SHOWS ARE HAPPENING
24/10 Connewitz Leipzig (DE)
28/10 Backstage Paris (FR)
31/10 BETA Copenhagen (DK)
1/11 Sputnikhalle Münster (DE)
THE FOLLOWING SHOWS ARE CANCELLED:
25/10 Zascianek Krakow (PL)
26/10 Rockhouse Salzburg (AT)
27/10 Sunset Bar Martigny (CH)
29/10 P60 Amstelveen (NL)
Déhà replaces Dolch on the remaining dates.
You already know Déhà, the unseen seventh member of Wolvennest, the hand behind the mix, the quiet presence woven into every one of our records. Beyond his work as a producer lies a musician of extraordinary depth and emotion, one of those rare souls who seem to breathe music rather than simply create it.
Through Yhdarl, under his own name Déhà, and across a constellation of other projects, he channels the most intense human emotions into soundscapes that are both devastating and transcendent. Listen to Yhdarl (Ave Maria), Déhà (Cruel Words or Nethermost & Absolute Comfort), and you’ll understand what we mean. Having him join us on this tour feels like a privilege. He doesn’t leave his studio often, but those who know his work, and there are many, as his wild Bandcamp following proves, will surely want to witness this rare appearance.
We can only express our gratitude to
Déhà for immediately agreeing to join this adventure alongside Wolvennest and Double
DOUBLE DARKNESS.
We’ll give everything we have each night to make this tour a beautiful, shared memory for everyone involved.
To our Polish brothers and sisters: we’re TRULY sorry. You’ve always welcomed us with conviction, and it hurts not to be able to come back to you this time.
To our Austrian brothers and sisters: we saw each other twice this summer, and those memories are still vivid. We hope to come back soon!
To our Swiss brothers and sisters: the Sunset Bar is legendary, small, warm, epic. We promise we’ll return!
As for Amstelveen, the cancellation came directly from the venue/organizer, so there’s nothing we could do about it.
Although we’re extremely frustrated with the situation, we’ll of course give everything we have for the six shows that are going ahead. Thank you for your support over the past decade. It’s frustrating, yes, but no tragedy.
For those who bought presale tickets for the canceled shows, please contact the seller for a refund. And please know that we’re genuinely sorry, even though this wasn’t our fault. Some of you travel far to attend the concerts, and we hope these cancellations won’t be too hard on you individually.
There are certainly better ways to launch an album into which we’ve poured all our hearts, but we have to shift gears quickly now, to make sure those six remaining shows become beautiful memories for all of us.
Also: thank you to Greg from Swamp Booking and Nelson for their hard work the last few days. If 6 shows are still happening, it's thanks to them!
