Promoters for the 2012 SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR, set to take place 8/16th to 18th, 2012 Dinkelsbuehl, Germany have confirmed NIFELHEM, ELUVEITIE, HEIDEVOLK and BORN FROM PAIN.
FROM SUMMER BREEZE OPEN AIR 2012 PROMOTERS:
Switzerland is still not part of the EU, but this doesn't prevent the
country from delivering hot music exports, and ELUVEITIE are definitely
one of them! Formed only in 2002, the band has been rapidly climbing the
success ladder and, since the release of its latest album, 'Helvetios',
belongs to the absolute forefront of the pagan/folk metal scene.
Because ELUVEITIE's sounds bears one plus that nicely sets them apart
from their peers. The Swiss neatly combine celtic folk music with
Gothenburg-style melodic death metal, breathing fresh air into a popular
scene which is, nonetheless, in danger of stagnating. Those who
remember their 2008 gig know that this octet is a great live band, which
makes them one of the absolute highlights of the 15th SUMMER BREEZE
Open Air.
NIFELHEIM have never been among the most productive personalities under
the Scanidnavian sun, but probably among the most cult-like ones. In 22
year they have released a mere four albums, which, however, enjoy great
popularity among genre connoisseurs. This, in turn, isn't surprising at
all, as the Swedish black/thrash horde have remained true to themselves,
alway keeping the same rowdiness of their beginnings. Wimps and posers
don't belong in the NIFELHEIM universe! Darkthrone meets Venom meets
Desaster meets Death Angel! This should make any true metalhead's mouth
water, or rather their neck itch for some headbanging action! NIFELHEIM
are metal as it was meant to be, simple, straight-forward, evil! Give
them a black welcome at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air!
At each and every one of their SUMMER BREEZE appearances so far, BORN
FROM PAIN have totally destroyed. And their new album promises nothing
less. The follow-up to 2008's 'Survival', aptly titled 'The New Future',
was entirely self-produced by the band and will be made available for
free download from April 20, 2012. The album release will be followed by
a far-reaching live campaign which will see the Dutchmen plow through
the Dinkelsbühl fields with their metallic hardcore just like Hatebreed
did last year. Always part of their act is a political message
denouncing the evils of the world in the most aggressive way possible,
which the band will pound into your brains (and bodies) in an
uncompromising manner. Brutal!
HEIDEVOLK – the name says a lot about these Dutchmen's stylistic
direction. Close to nature, mythological, pagan. The septet was formed
in 2002 and has produced four albums which all gained them a lot of
respect in the scene. A lot has happened since their last appearance in
Dinkelsbühl in 2008. While back then HEIDEVOLK were still an insider's
tip in terms of pagan/folk metal, nowadays they belong to the genre's
established bands who further stand out because of the use of their
vernacular language. Furthermore, their compositions have moved from the
initial singalong party anthems to more epic pagan metal, which
indicates they know about booze-fueled dance parties as well as misty
battlefield romanticism and everything in between. Not many bands can
make this claim. – the name says a lot about these Dutchmen's stylistic
