Norwegian black metal veterans ANTESTOR were allegedly attacked at a recent tour ritual in Belo Horizonte, BRAZIL late last month for being "Unblack" and supporting Christian themes.

ITP V.012 EDITORIAL: "UNBLACK" METAL:

ANTESTOR unleashed "Omen" 12/2012 on BOMBWORKS RECORDS.

FROM ANONYMOUS SOURCE ON BWBK.COM FORUM:
In late January, members of the Norwegian band Antestor were attacked outside a venue in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. A mob of 50 to 100 people (reports vary) gathered outside spurred by the blog WarMetalBR to protest the “cultural plagiarism” of the Christian band. Protestors punched, kicked and spat on members before the band was escorted away by Brazilian Police.

This kind of behavior is simply unacceptable, as it should be in general, in what passes for civilized society today. These actions were juvenile and pathetic. Unfortunately, that describes much of the response from the Metal community as well. I was only able to find two stories covering the incident. The most widespread story from DeathMetal.org only thinly veils their approval and acceptance of the events and calls for “the black metal community to go back to its roots and analyze what it actually stands for”. Congratulations, you are part of the fucking problem, as is anyone who has justified these actions in any fashion. This includes the many people who have just said, “Well, it should be expected.” To those folks I ask, does that make it acceptable? The “most” balanced look at the incident seems to come from Christian webzine Untombed.com. Yet, even though this time they are the victim, they have to play the “Christians are persecuted all over the world” card. Well, folks guess what, EVERY GROUP is persecuted all over the world. Of course, in most of the world when Christianity and persecution are mentioned in the same sentence they aren’t the victims. In the end, the events in Brazil in January

aren’t what we need to focus on. We need to focus on the root of the issue.

FROM ANTESTOR:
BELO HORIZONTE! Nothing more to say but: CARAMBA! That's one night we will never forget. Cops, gunfire, riots, the best audience in the world. This night had everything. Special thanks to the people who took a great risk arranging the concert. We are proud to call you our brothers and sisters in Christ. Last but not least we must thank the gig securety and the Belo Horizonte police for escorting us though the angry mob. We could write in details about all the drama that happened after the show. But not on this page. We do not hate the angry mob who came to hurt us. In fact, our message in our shows is to love your enemy. So God bless everybody who stood outside chanting: Fuck Antestor! Hope we can talk like reasonable people someday over a fresh squeezed juice. Extra special hails to our fans who had the balls to come although they knew it could be dangerous. Antestor salutes you and be blessed.n’t

Nickolas (synth) has left the band due to health problems. We will not replace him or recruit any new members at this point.
