ITP V.013 WORLD APOCALYPSE: U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN EFFECTIVE 10/1/2013 12AM EST

LAME and a shame. Parts of the U.S. GOVERNMENT HAS SHUT DOWN EFFECTIVE 10/1/2013 12AM EST (USA).
For the first time in 17 years, U.S. politicians, (Senate and Congress) can't agree on budget woes (deficit) as issues from OBAMA CARE to INFLUENZA programs are a point of contention regarding funding.





* U.S. mail will be delivered.
* SSI, DSS and SSD checks will be sent out, although if you're pending a case, that will be delayed.
*Federal employees will see pay checks delayed and be paid retroactively divided between "essential and non essential employees", as some will be sent home and others will work half a day. Essential workers work with delayed pay, non essentials workers work half a day.
* Air traffic controllers will WORK.
*Law Enforcement, will stay open, Prisons guards on retroactive pay. The justice department will suspend civil cases. Federal courts will shut down 10 days after the government shut down. Homeland security will stay hard at work, as our U.S. military will be paid for active duty.
* The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) will shut down.
* SADLY IN TIME FOR LEAF PEEPERS and THE FALL FOLIAGE:
* National Parks and ZOO's will be shut down including YOSEMITE and the STATUE OF LIBERTY.

SERIOUS IMPACTS OF  U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS SHUT DOWN:
HEADS UP  MUSICIANS, BANDS, VACATIONERS, TRAVELERS (one more reason to get apply for VISAS 6 months in advance, as I hope this doesn't effect touring acts coming to the U.S. and NORTH AMERICA and U.S. bands touring abroad or if you're band is applying for VISA's for winter/spring 2014 touring):
*Passport agencies will be open depending on funding : "if a passport agency is located in a government building affected by a lapse in appropriations, the facility may become unsupported.")

During the previous shutdown in 1995-1996, around 20,000 to 30,000 applications from foreigners for visas went unprocessed each day. This time around, the State Department is planning to continue processing visas through the shutdown, since those operations are largely funded by fees collected.*

However the E-VERIFY program is shutdown, for business to check for legal immigration status.    

*VETERANS: VA benefits will continue unless the  U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN last more than two to three weeks, as many services will be disrupted and after said time, there will NOT be enough money to pay out benefits. Don't panic, this is obviously no way to treat our veterans.

*Some states fear unemployment benefits will be effected, IRS tax refunds could be delayed.
 SADLY: WIC is shutdown, for pregnant women and their children.
SNAP (food stamps) will continue.

*SECTION 8 and HOUSING SUBSIDIES: (Depending on how much $ these agencies have left after OCTOBER and depending on how long the the  U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN lasts):
The Department of Housing and Urban Development will not be able to provide local housing authorities with additional money for housing vouchers. The nation's 3,300 public housing authorities will also stop receiving payments, although most of these agencies have enough cash on hand to provide rental assistance through the end of October.

...All of this over issues like HEALTH CARE and the taxes associated appropriated via income and assets.. while many ITP V.013 readers are from European countries with socialized health care, you MUST be shaking your head in shock.

Shake the hand of a federal worker..
the U.S. stands to lose over 200 million in economic gain.
