METAL BLADE RECORDS.
FROM THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER:
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Scott Strnad. Beloved son, brother, and Shepard of good times, he was loved by all that met him. A walking encyclopedia of all things music. He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers. His lyrics provided the world with stories and spells and horror and whimsy. It was his life to be your show.

ITP V.022 EDITORS NOTE:
ohhhh
noooooo. This is AWFUL news. I know 'troo metal heads" shit on this
band. However, I guarantee you not only were they a great live band,
they are great people. Trevor was a huge death metal fan, posting about
underground death metal bands as he never forgot where he came from and
supported the scene. For instance, I saw THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER TOURED
with King diamond and BEHEMOTH and when the played in Poughkeepsie, New
York the show sold out. I got a ticket, however one my acquaintances
showed up to the show without a ticket. My friend made a sign stating he
would kick himself for a ticket. The BLACK DAHLIA MURDER tour manager
comes out and puts him on the guest list. The dude who flew a sign for
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, BEHEMOTH, KING DIAMOND tickets was late New
Paltz, New York local JAY LAVELLE who passed to suicide in 2007. This is
soo sad The BLACK DAHLIA MURDER had a world of potential. The BLACK
DAHLIA MURDERS statement includes the number to the National Suicide
Hotline, so I'm guessing Trevor committed suicide. R.I.P. Sweetheart.

FROM VIOLENCE SYSTEM:
We are absolutely devastated to hear of the passing of Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder.
Without Trevor's monstrous impact on modern death metal, we wouldn't be
here. A phenomenal lyricist, energetic performer, and all around fun
dude, this is a loss that will be felt for years to come in the metal
community. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends, and brothers in
TBDM. Rest in power Trevor.
FROM TEMPLE OF VOID:
Temple of Void is saddened to hear about this awful news. Trevor was a really damn good dude who brought joy to a lot of freakin people the world over. He's a dude who used his clout in the scene to lift others up, and take bands on tour that he respected so he could expose them to bigger audiences. He was selfless and had an insatiable appetite for metal. This sucks. R.I.P.
FROM SEEING RED RECORDS:
I’m in complete and utter shock…
The world had lost a special one today…
I’ve known Trevor since 2007, we played shows together, hung together, and he was a GIANT supporter of both my labels, Redefining Darkness & Seeing Red Records. We weren’t super close, but had a very cool friendly relationship. I always enjoyed talking to him and hanging. He was always the life of the party and so jovial and hilarious. The metal world is gonna be hit hard by this one. My sincerest condolences to all that loved him especially his band mates in
The Black Dahlia Murder and family. RIP Trevor.

FROM WORCESTER PALLADIUM:
FROM MARE COGNITUM:
I am deeply saddened by the news of Trevor Strnad's passing. This might come as a surprise to many of you (and it was to him, when I told him!) but TBDM was one of the first death metal bands that I heard, and one of the first metal bands I got truly obsessed with. As a kid I had absolutely never heard anything like that, I was completely hooked... I went to see them over and over. It's no exaggeration to say that Trevor and the boys were a big reason I even play metal today.
So, many years later, it was really special to find out that Trevor was a fan of my music too - to find out that someone I looked up to as a kid was now more of a peer. One day I was shocked to discover his name in the merch order list, and thats what led to us collaborating on a song for charity. Although our time working together was brief, it is something I'll always cherish.
We had talked a little about working on some black metal together when time allowed, and it's sad to realize that won't happen now. I am grateful that I got to know him a bit and experience how kind and humble he was, in light of his extreme talent, and also to be inspired so many years ago by his work. I am also glad I got to tell him how influential he was to me. Rest in peace.
FROM BELUSHI SPEED BALL: RIP to one of our biggest influences ever. Trevor Strnad was a gift to all of us.
FROM PYREXIA:
The
Metal community lost a great soul with the passing of Trevor. We bow
our heads in respect and gratitude for all that he has contributed to
the genre. Rest in Power.

FROM TRANSYLVANIAN RECORDINGS:
The metal scene has lost a really cool individual. Trevor Strnad was a massively dedicated fan and supporter of underground metal. Regardless if you dig them or not, The Black Dahlia Murder was one of the biggest underground Death Metal bands of the 2000s. They toured constantly and released a ton of records. They also helped elevate so many bands in the underground by offering them their first real tours outside of DIY bars/venues, and Trevor was responsible for curating these tours. His insatiable thirst for brutality had him constantly scouring the net for new bands to get into and support. He was a music fan thru and thru and did what he could to give back to the community that helped him make a living. He was buying stuff from me for years and whenever I saw his name pop up I would light up because it was
really fucking cool to see like an affirmation that I’m doing something right. I’d screencap his name and send it to the bands and they’d lose their shit because they respected him so much. It was an amazing feeling.
I listened to several of his podcasts interviews, one that I thoroughly enjoyed was his discussion on mental health. The part that resonated the most was relating to his struggles with depression, it’s a battle that most people don’t see or truly understand.
I feel like he’d want people to laugh and smile so I’m sharing this video we did together to have fun. During the pan I got bored and thought it’d be funny to hit up a couple friends and do goofy videos with them to promote the new Evulse album instead of spending money on a pr campaign. Trevor was a great sport with us, and he threw on our band tee he picked up a few years prior.
I know a lot of people are feeling this loss. I’m sorry this never gets easier but try and think about the good times, positive memories and experiences
We will always remember this tour. RIP Trevor Strnad

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Trevor Strnad. He was a great lyricist an inspired and original vocalist, and one of the few humans bad ass enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Scumdogs of the Universe. He will be missed.
FROM INERTIA ENTERTAINMENT:
Very sad to hear that Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder has left this planet.
Worked with him and his band for close to two decades. Cannot tell you how many times I have booked them on Support and headline tours. Many Many times
I remember first getting Unhallowed, and Cranking it at shows for you all, people asking who this group is...
He was always a kind individual, and fantastic to deal with when rolling through our city on a show.
Based in the message shared by his band...
If you need help, someone will always listen. Seriously, Call a friend, call a stranger, whatever you are going through, someone will take the time to listen
