 FROM SEWER ROT RECORDS:

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of another from the Sewer Rot family and death metal legend Martin Lacroix. It is often said that there is something in the water in Canada when it comes to their extreme metal, and it is impossible to tell the story of Canadian death metal without mentioning Martin Lacroix. He was the vocalist in Spasme, and we are profoundly glad to have reissued their album and that Martin was happy with it. He was later the vocalist in Cryptopsy, and he did a phenomenal job on their live album. He’s one of the most accomplished tattoo artists anywhere, and many iconic musicians proudly display his works on their skin every time they hit the stage. He also contributed artwork to many legendary bands including Gorguts, Cryptopsy, Beyond Creation, Augury, Vengeful, Akurion, and many more. He brought joy to everyone that knew him and will be deeply missed. His music and artwork will last forever, and all of us at Sewer Rot are thankful for being just a small blip in the legacy that is Martin Lacroix. Rest in peace Martin. Much love from all of us at Sewer Rot to Martin’s family and everyone that has been touched by him all around the world.

FROM NEURAXIS:

RIP Martin Lacroix. Our condolences to his family and friends. Thank you for your amazing artistic contributions to this world. We had the opportunity to share the stage with Martin first in 1998 when he was the singer of Spasme band and then in 2002 when he was the singer of Cryptopsy . This show was recorded live and became None So Live. Rest in peace Martin.

FROM GORGUTS:

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear friend Martin Lacroix Art. Martin was not only a gifted artist but also a close companion of Luc, residing nearby in Sherbrooke. Lacroix, a dedicated Gorguts fan, crafted the HarpSkull design for our shirts and later contributed to the entire artwork of COLORED SANDS (2013) on Season of Mist and some pieces for ...And Then Comes Lividity: A Demo Anthology (2014) on War on Music Records. The scene has lost a precious gem, and he will always be remembered. RIP, Brother.

FROM PROFANITY:

We are totally shocked and speechless that Martin Lacroix passed away.
Back in 2002, we had with Profanity the great honor to do play with Cryptopsy, Haemorrhage and Spawn a European Tour. At this time, Martin was the vocalist of Cryptopsy. What a great musician, tattoo artist and human being he was….we will miss you Martin!!!
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Martin’s family during this difficult time.
Rest in peace Martin
