ARD: POST NEW TRACK "NAME BESTOWED"

British melodic, death doom metal warriors ARD have posted a visualizer for "NAME BESTOWED", a track from the bands anticipated new release "UNTOUCHED BY FIRE", due to be unleashed 4/26/2024 via PROPHECY PRODUCTIONS.

Musically, the track “Name Bestowed” comes in two parts. The first half showcases the tranquil, acoustic, and haunting aspect of the sound of Arð. This is countered by a huge, epic, soaring end section. The melody of the latter is quite possibly my personal favourite on the new album.

The historical background for “Name Bestowed” refers to the time of Oswald's exile in Dal Riada.

While fighting both in Britain and Ireland for the Irish kingdom on Scotland's West, the later king earned the warrior name "Lamnguin", which literally means “Bright (or White) Arm” and is translated as Whiteblade.

After 18 years in exile, Oswald returns to his homeland as Whiteblade, ready to unite Bernicia and Deira into one: Northumbria.

Ready to be king.

This is the dawn of the kingdom.
