*Former NEGURA BUNGET members Hupogrammos (guitars, vocals, bass, keyboards, archaic instruments) and Sol Faur (guitar) have launched a brand new project called DORDEDUH (rough translation: "yearning for the spirit"). The band's lineup also includes Arioch (former bassist for NEGURA BUNGET and ex-guitarist of ODEM ARCARUM and SECRETS OF THE MOON), Thelemnar (SECRETS OF THE MOON, THE VISION BLEAK, NEGURA BUNGET) and Sergio Ponti (EPHEL DUATH, ILLOGICIST). A keyboard player is currently being sought as well as someone to play all the traditional instruments that the group intends to use in its music.


Commented the band: "We are eager to step on the stage again and to bring out as soon as possible the new album that we'll be working on. Our aim is to connect the transcendence with the material substance and to elevate the consciousness to the highest realms of the human spirit by providing music based on heartfelt ultimate truths. We are certain that the path initiated by NEGURA BUNGET years ago could and should be continued by DORDEDUH in the intent of representing a union of the outermost noble essence of humanness with the universe through an unconditional process."

*Netherlands (DSBM) black metal heroes URFAUST are finished recording an EP follow up to the bands split with JOYLESS (Unter Töchtern Der Wüste) entitled "IX EINSIEDLER" released by Vän Records 6/27/09 (Urfaust - "IX: Einsiedler" 12" MLP) as pre orders will be shipped by the end of July. *French black metal band GLORIOR BELLI have announced new drummer Gaël Barthelemy (BALROG, SVARTCROWN, DIABOLIC, DROWNING, ANTAEUS) as the bands third release "Meet Us Of The Southern Sign", was released in North America on June 2 via Candlelight Records.
*Norwegian black metal veterans URGEHAL have signed with SEASON OF THE MISTS UNDERGROUND ACTIVISTS (label). Expect URGEHAL to release their as of yet untitled sixth release in early 2010.
*Norwegian black metal (DSBM) band SHINING have dropped off the CZECH REPUBLICS UNHOLY FEST (7/24/09) and are currently in the studio recording Shining VII. SHINING have been confirmed for the Ashes To Ashes…Doom to Dust Chapter IV festival, set to take place Sunday, September 6 at the Cultuurfabriek Hall of Fame in Tilburg Holland.
*SEHNSUCHT (featuring EX MAYHEM vocalist MANIAC) have added Andrew Liles (NURSE WITH WOUND, THE VORTEX VAULT, CURRENT 93)to the projects ranks on FX and electronics. FROM SEHNSUCHT: The decision to work together came last week when Maniac, on a month-long working holiday in the U.K., went to Liles' West Yorkshire home to master the forthcoming SKITLIV album, "Skandinavisk Misantropi", and to discuss the eventual mastering of the SEHNSUCHT album. "We were listening to the very rough SEHNSUCHT tracks and Andrew started making suggestions and rapidly became very involved in the whole thing," Maniac said. "By the end of a couple of hours, I was completely blown away by what he was doing, and by the end of my stay, we had laid down additional vocals and a lot more electronics, and we were both convinced that we wanted to expand this project together, and eventually take it live." He continued "I have long admired Andrew's work, and even though on the face of it, we appear to come from disparate musical disciplines, we both share the same eclectic musical tastes, and pretty much the same absurd sense of humor, so it's not only a privilege, but also a pleasure to work with him and take SEHNSUCHT much further than I'd originally envisaged. Once Vivian sends more bass tracks later this week, the whole project will become much more cohesive, and all four of us are very excited about the direction SEHNSUCHT is taking." SEHNSUCHT's "Skandinavisk Misantropi" is due out this year with guest appearances from is due for release this year and includes guest vocals from David Tibet (CURRENT 93), Gaahl (GOD SEED, WARDRUNA, GORGOROTH) and Atilla Csihar (SUNN 0))), MAYHEM).
*French black metal masters MERRIMACK have signed with OSMOSE PRODUCTIONS in cooperation with MORIBUND RECORDS and have entitled their new release "Grey Rigorism" set for release September 15th, 2009. It will be released under regular CD and a limited gatefold double LP.

*Canadian black metal band WOLVEN ANCESTRY have issued this update setting an official release date for the bands new release entitled "Silence Of the Boreal" FROM WOLVEN ANCESTRY:

*(EDITORS NOTE: This is confusing) Norwegian black metal heroes GORGOROTH spent time at Threeman Recordings in Stockholm with producer Nico Elgstrand . During the recording sessions, (re joined) GORGOROTH front man Pest replaced EX GORGOROTH frontman Gaahl's vocals for the "True Norwegian Black Metal - Live in Grieghallen" album. According to a posting on GORGOROTH's website, GORGOROTHS's main man/guitarist INFERNUS "has already consulted legal representatives regarding this album, and is prepared to support Regain Records in the label's ongoing legal conflict with two of the band's ex-members, if any such support is needed." GORGOROTH are due to release a new CD entitled "Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt" via REGAIN records in OCTOBER, 2009.
*Norwegian black metal legends MAYHEM have also pulled out of the CZECH REPUBLIC'S UNHOLY FEST. FROM MAYHEM: Mayhem will not perform at the Unholy Fest in Czech Rep previously set to take place on 22/23/24 of July. Obviously this fest is a BIG SCAM !

*Tom G. Warrior (EX CELTIC FROST currently in TRYPTICON) will guest with Norwegian black metal band SARKE at WACKEN OPEN AIR FEST. FROM BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
SARKE, the Norwegian band featuring Sarke (KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN'S CHILD, SENSA ANIMA) and Nocturno Culto (DARKTHRONE), will be joined by Tom Gabriel Fischer (CELTIC FROST, HELLHAMMER) on stage at this year's Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany for a performance of the CELTIC FROST classic "Dethroned Emperor".
Added Fischer: "It's an honor and a privilege to be invited to appear onstage with SARKE, a group whose lineup doesn't only contain personal friends but also musicians I respect deeply. We shall make our appearance at Wacken a truly special event!"

Commented SARKE in a statement: "We are all massive fans of Tom and his music, and we are honored to share the stage with him at Wacken!"
*Austrian blackened death band BELPHEGOR have finished recording their new CD entitled "Walpurgis Rites - Hexenwahn" for NUCLEAR BLAST due out in October of 2009. BELPHEGOR front man "Helmuth" commented: "With these nine compositions/arrangements, we continue to piss on the damn mainstream. It's BELPHEGOR to the highest; the hymns are extremely varied, more intense and epic than ever, [and] there are new elements and structures added. Also, we used some haunting samples here and there, to give the album a cold and ritualistic feel."

He continued, "On 'Walpurgis Rites - Hexenwahn', you will hear my most fucked up vocals to date; also the lyrical content is offensive and insane. The witch/devil concept is amazing to work with and we used alot of original chants/ incantations from archaic scripts."

BACK IN BLACK: Hole in the Sky announces full line-up

Hole in the Sky takes you underground again. Well, sort of. Last year we had a fantastic selection of legendary thrash and death metal acts, fired up newbie’s and some mind-blowing party fuelled mosh bands. In the wake of the festival, we realized one thing missing though: the corpse paint! Over the past few years there’s been less and less black metal and in fact Norwegian bands in general, so this being our 10 year anniversary we thought it was time to take things a bit back to basics.

Hole in the Sky X is a celebration of the darker and more gloomy aspects of the metal scene. The Underground is the new loud and there is a broad selection of aspiring talent in this installment of the festival. We hope you will enjoy getting to know these bands as much as we have in the process of putting the line-up together.

We’re also going to revisit extreme metal history with the very talented group Enslaved as hosts. Joined by a spectacular selection of metal royalty such as Darkthrone, Mayhem and Emperor, performing songs not heard in a long, long time – or in some cases, dare we say ever?

To tie in with this homage to our roots and Norwegian extreme metal, another classic pairing is set to take place for the first time in Bergen since 1996. Infernus has teamed up with vocalist Pest from the classic mid nineties Gorgoroth line-up. Together with Obituary bass player Frank Watkins, the duo will, without a doubt, write a new and exciting chapter in the notorious Gorgoroth saga. A live concert from this bunch is a sight to behold, and without revealing too much, this exclusive show will be no exception. The band has even promised to reintroduce some tracks from the legendary “Pentagram” album, which hasn’t been played for nearly 15 years.

There’s a bunch of firsts this time around too. Who would have thought that legendary Bobby Liebling would take his legendary Pentagram to Scandinavia for the first time ever? Underground favourites Faustcoven is making their live debut on Hole in the Sky, and then there’s Necros Christos, Portrait, Behexen, Archgoat and Absu all doing their first shows in Norway.

Being our 10-year anniversary, we’ve included the Tuesday in the line-up too, named Hole in the Sky: Incoming, which has some sort of a showcase vibe to it. Both Sahg, Kvelertak, Deride and Krakow have new albums coming out shortly. This is the perfect opportunity to check out where these talented artists are heading.

As a massive thank you to our loyal visitors that buy tickets and sell out the Garage venue even before you know who’s playing, we’ve decided to give you a little treat to show our appreciation. At time of going to print, all club passes were gone, but keep checking back for reservations not collected.
