***** PANTHEIST are looking for a new guitarist as PETE BENJAMIN has left the band and ESOTERIC's GREG CHANDLER is temporarily filling in for him for PANTHEISTS up and coming gigs. FROM PANTHEIST MYSPACE:
Following 3 great years of collaboration, fantastic times at gigs, in tour vans and the studio, we have sadly decided to part ways with guitarist Pete Benjamin (Akercocke, Corpsing, For the Blind). For the upcoming gigs this year, our Belgian, Czech and Polish fans will have the opportunity to witness Pantheist with Esoteric's Greg Chandler joining Ilia on guitar duties. We are really excited about this one-off set of appearances, as Greg, who engineered our latest album 'Journey Through Lands Unknown', brings his own flair into our music.
Following these concerts we will be looking into recruiting a suitably talented and open-minded replacement for Pete. We are looking for someone capable of both rhythm and lead guitar, with their own equipment, suitable for live performances and willing to commit to at least 3 rehearsals a month in London, England. Live and recording experience and skills in other instruments are not necessary but highly welcome. ****** Italian doom project DOOMRAISER has sent this update on a lineup change:
As one door closes, another opens. Valerio has decided to leave the band; he wants to concentrate more on his other projects. We all wish Valerio the best of luck with his new vocation. He was, and remains, a formidable guitarist and was an integral part of DOOMRAISER.
However, it is with great pleasure that DOOMRAISER announce that Valerio’s replacement is to be none other than our good friend and brother, the fearsomely talented musician Willer. He played guitar with evil blacksters Grimness and he’s involved in Blackland, an awesome and obscure heavy psychedelic band from Rome. Practices have been going very well, and Willer is already adding a new, acid and exciting dimension to the band as a whole. His first gig is at the Init Club in Rome on the 25th October, opening for the Italian heavy metal legend Strana Officina, the band that invented the “Italian Way of Metal”.
The second gig with Willer will be at Sinister Noise Club in Rome on the 21th November: a special and drunken night celebrating the birthday of one of the most important Italian underground rock scene club!

************ Scottish ambient/drone doomsters DRONE have sent this update on band activities: I'm not sure if any of you actually bothered to get 'Bleak' which was really my last album of traditional Doom/Drone of the Sunn O))) variety. Which featured some awesome vocal work from the brilliant Sabazius.
Anyway, I think it's about time I did a follow up to it. A real 'return to the roots' if you will. Except this time I'm hoping to go a little bit heavier.

************** Swedish death doomsters SLUMBER have parted ways with drummer Ted Larson whom has left the band for "personal and private reasons". SLUMBER are scheduled to enter the studio on January 7 to begin recording its new album, "Resonance", will utilize the services of two session drummers during the tracking process.
"Resonance" will be recorded and mixed over a four-week period at Panic
An audio preview of a new track called "Skylight", which is set to be included on "Resonance", is available for streaming at the band's MySpace page.
The CD will also include appearances by Ida Sundquvist, Lina Svärd and the Vinköl choir.

SERPENTCULT, the Belgian band featuring former members of THEE PLAGUE OF GENTLEMEN and WELKIN, has set "Raised By Wolves" as the title of its second album, tentatively due in the spring of 2010 on Rise Above Records.
