GWAR: CORY SMOOT FAMILY FUND, EUROPEAN WINTER 2012 TOUR WILL GO ON AS PLANNED

Virginia, USA intergalactic metal warriors GWAR have announced the CORY SMOOT family fund as the bands winter 2012 European tour will go on as planned. GWAR guitarist CORY SMOOT was found dead in the bands tour bus earlier this month during a border crossing. CORY SMOOT (AKA FLATTUS MAXIMUS-guitarist GWAR) leaves behind a wife and an expected child with no life insurance. In tribute to CORY SMOOT, GWAR have retired the stage character FLATTUS MAXIMUS.

FROM GWAR:
There is no official cause of death for Cory Smoot. That won't happen until we have the final toxicology report, and that could be weeks. These things take time and please keep in mind that Cory died in the middle of nowhere. We don't know how Cory died and won't for weeks. It sucks. When we do know, you will too.
And of course there is, we lost Cory. He's with me it seems all the time, and I keep thinking about how blown away he would have been by all of this. It's now pretty much out there that Jaime, Cory's wife, is pregnant. Cory left behind people that were dependent on him and sadly there was no life insurance. So we have established this fund for Jaime and the child, which will be named Cory, boy or girl!

Now of course GWAR will do everything it can and will always look after the Smoots! But we are giving everyone a chance to help...and if you can't afford even a small donation, then send the link to people who can make a BIG donation!

The music biz is a bitch and these guys dangle themselves over the jaws of death to bring you the rock. There's a reason a lot of musicians die young--it's a rough gig, and sometimes tragic and unexpected things happen. This time it happened to us. So if you possibly can, support the Smoot Family Fund.
