PUSSY RIOT: ONE MEMBER Yekaterina Samutsevich FREED

One member of jailed punk rock feminist band PUSSY RIOT has been freed on the issue of a lesser role of hooliganism regarding the band performing a provocative punk rock protest song in a Moscow Orthodox church. . Yekaterina Samutsevich, 30, accepting an argument by her new lawyer that she had far less of a role in the cathedral stunt than her band mates, and that the lower-court judge who convicted the women in August should have taken that into account.

PUSSY RIOT's conviction stemmed from an incident when the band protested Russian President Putin and stormed the alter in a Orthodox Moscow church, and sung a provocative punk rock protest song.
