KATATONIA: COMMENTS ON NEW RELEASE "DETHRONED AND UNCROWNED"

Swedish progressive, atmospheric metal warriors KATATONIA have commented on fan criticism of the bands latest
release entitled "DETHRONED AND UNCROWNED, unleashed  9/9/2013 via K-SCOPE RECORDS.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 KATATONIA have also unleashed a lyric video for the track "Buildings".                                                KATATONIA have also announced a fall 2013 U.S. tour with CULT OF LUNA,  TESSERACT and INTRONAUT.

The feedback for 'Dethroned & Uncrowned' keeps pouring in and we've noticed a little contradiction taking place. Basically it's all about the same 'ol situation of ying and yang and goes...

"The songs aren't different enough compared to the original" VS "The remixes have taken too much away from the originals".

...Hard to please everyone these days, isn't it? Truth to be told, that will never ever happen, with anybody, anything, anywhere! There's actually only one thing we can guarantee, one thing we can be sure of that WILL eventually happen and that is to succeed to please a few individuals collectively known as Katatonia. At the end of the day, that's also more than enough and anything beyond that is just a big lovely bonus.

To the fans who couldn't give a shit about this album, no worries, you're perfectly entitled to and if you bought or downloaded the album you're also still welcome to give us constructive criticism (we'd actually love to hear it), but trying to disrespectfully navigate Katatonia for us or just posting rude comments witthout substance we can not accept (this page isn't Blabbermouth)! Maybe an easier alternative for the keyboard warriors would simply be to skip this album in the first place and spare yourselves the rant. Nobody's forcing nobody to buy/download anything. If its' not for you, let it go! Just let the people who like the album buy/download it instead. It's "a walk in the park" to ignore something you don't even own! Let go of your negativity poured out on this page and just carry on with whatever rocks your world. If you fail this "task", there's a problem, but it's yours, not ours.

To the people who actually embrace the album for what it is and even enjoy this little experiment, cheers! Some of you pledged for this project to become a part of your reality and made that happen within an incredible short amount of time. That truly shows how much faith our fanbase have in Katatonia and make us proud! However, if you pledged for the album and aren't happy with the outcome, our sincere condolences for your shortage of £20.

Otherwise, thanks for everyones support and especially open-mindedness. We'll see some of you on tour in the next couple of weeks. As previously explained we will not tour for 'Dethroned & Uncrowned' until 2014, but the current setlist for the North American tour has been majorly adjusted. We can count at least 6 songs we never played live before, ever. So that's 6 reasons to come out just right there! Expect the unexpected! Cheers!
