PHIFE received two kidney transplants and unleashed "VENTILATION", 9/26/2000 via GROOVE ATTACK RECORDS.
PHIFE was working on a new release "Songs in the Key of Phife" at the time of his death.

We are incredibly saddened to hear about about the passing of A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg due to complications from diabetes. He was only 45 years old.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and fans.
"Malik was our loving husband, father, brother and friend," his family said in a statement. "We love him dearly. How he impacted all our lives will never be forgotten. His love for music and sports was only surpassed by his love of God and family."
