METALLICA: "Who would’ve ever thought that Master of Puppets, a record made by a band hovering way left of the mainstream in 1986, would be granted the honor of being added to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress?"

...and the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS chose METALLICA's best release.

Bay Area, California thrash/hard rock legends METALLICA have announced the bands classic 1986 release "MASTER OF PUPPETS"  has been entered into the NATIONAL RECORDING REGISTRY of the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. 











METALLICA will  re-issue the bands classic early releases "KILL 'EM ALL" and "RIDE THE LIGHTNING" (RE-MASTERED, due to be re-unleashed 4/15/2016 via BLACKENED RECORDINGS.

Also, in collaboration with RECORD STORE DAY, METALLICA will release
'Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica!", a live release recorded 6/11/2003 in PARIS FRANCE as the proceeds will benefit victims of the 2015 PARIS TERRORIST ATTACKS, due to be unleashed 4/16/2016 via BLACKENED RECORDINGS. 


METALLICA unleashed the SOUNDTRACK for the bands new (3D) MOVIE entitled "Through The Never" via IMAX. METALLICA's "THROUGH THE NEVER" soundtrack (15 songs recorded live in EDMONTON and VANCOUVER, CANADA AUGUST 2012)  9/24/2013 via METALLICA's own label  BLACKENED RECORDINGS. The movie METALLICA: "THROUGH THE NEVER" was unleashed 9/27/2013 via PICTUREHOUSE ENTERTAINMENT.

It happened today as Master was selected as one of the 25 new sound recordings added to the registry of works that are “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
