"This is not for the casual listener. This is not for the feint of heart. This is the sort of music that takes a crowbar to your head, pries open your skull, and inundates your psyche with despair. Dread is the soundtrack to your emotional breakdown as bleak hopelessness dances a psychotic waltz with infernal rage. You have been warned." - 1340mag.com

The Maledict Release Debut Album ‘Dread’
‘Dread’, the brutally haunting and personifying debut album from rural Victorian death/doom band, The Maledict is available today, via the link below.
With the seamless addition of gothic, orchestral and doom metal influences to their already established death metal sound, ‘Dread’ is The Maledict’s savagely uncompromising introduction to the their grim, dark and true identity. Totalling fifty eight minutes, the album’s eight meticulously crafted tracks will have you wanting to put people in the grave one minute and enter it the next.
‘Dread’ truly is as personal as it gets for The Maledict, not only in its songs and lyrics, but in its artwork and production, most of which was done by the band. The album was recorded between June and August, 2015 at Three Phase Studios in Melbourne and at the band’s property in Mildura.
The Maledict comments:
“THE MALEDICT SUMMONS YOU TO SHARE IN OUR DREAD - DEBUT ALBUM TO RELEASE ON DECEMBER 15.
“After two long years since the launch of the demo Salvation in Yielding, we’re stoked to finally announce that our first
"full-length opus, entitled Dread, shall be available in the closing weeks of 2015.
“While our demo may have whet the metallic appetites of some, Dread is a beast far more refined, wretched and savage,
delivering a 58-minute slab of uncompromisingbleakness. Weaving gracefully between crushing brutality and phantasmic
melody across one reworked piece and seven brand new compositions, Dread aims to dig a dagger
into the dark heart of fear, anger and sorrow that we all feel every day.”
