NARGAROTH: "Highly misunderstood song. It never glorified Count Grishnackh or the murder nor it degraded Euronymous. Its the poor peoples tendency to prejudge and gossip that makes sometimes simple things scandalous."

German black metal warriors NARGAROTH have explained the bands cult classic track "THE DAY BURZUM KILLED MAYHEM", from the bands classic release "BLACK METAL 1st KRIEG" (A DEDICATION MONUMENT), unleashed in 2001.

NARGAROTH unleashed "SPECTRAL VISIONS OF MENTAL WARFARE", 3/26/2011 .

NARGAROTH have cut ties with NO COLOURS RECORDS and are set to unleash new music independently.

FROM NARGAROTH:
Highly misunderstood song. It never glorified Count Grishnackh or the murder nor it degraded Euronymous. Its the poor peoples tendency to prejudge and gossip that makes sometimes simple things scandalous. It was just “a story” about something I personally wished that never happened, no matter what impact it had on the music art Black Metal...

also think it's self explanatory and don't mind too much. But worldwide reactions to the song shows how superficial many approach art (or that they are literally stupid). Even Hellhammer from Mayhem tend to misunderstand it and asked me for a weird conversation 2 years ago on a festival we both played together, ending with him asking me: "but we are friend, right"? Well, never mind .
Aside the majority of Black Metal listening people today are not necessarily metallions in the classic sense anymore. So they probably don't dig so deep into the history of an art.
