ITP V.016 ONLY ONE PER COFFIN: R.I.P. AARON AITES ( MUSICIAN, DIRECTOR OF "UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US")

Filmmaker and musician AARON AITES passed away 4/28/2016 after a battle with cancer. AARON AITES was diagnosed with an aggressive kidney cancer and needed help funding treatment. AARON AITES and friends started a GOFUNDME site to help fund his treatment.

AARON AITES was a member of IRAN and has co-directed and produced the critically acclaimed documentary "UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US" (2010- NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL DOCUMENTARY).

Aaron left us this morning. I will never stop loving him.

I wasn't going to listen to any of Aaron's music for a while, but friends have been posting his songs and tributes to him and that's all I can stand to see or hear right now. Thank you all for remembering him so beautifully. Despite what you may think, our love was never easy. It was passionate and volatile and difficult. But it was strong. He knew love was complicated, people are wounded, we hide from each other, and we hurt each other. But there's so much love in his voice, and that's what made him so brilliant. He never looked away from the darkness, he instead shone a light into it, and revealed something about it for the rest of us who couldn't articulate it as beautifully or with such perfectly fractured truth. I miss him so fucking much.
