ITP V.018 UPDATE: CONFIRMING EU DATA COMPLIANCE

 ITP V.018

Busy personal day today. It's a big deal. All cookies have to be compliant with EUROPEAN UNION visitors and GDPR. There's a little notice on the bottom of ITP V.018 stating cookies will track you so BLOGSPOT and GOOGLE ANALYTICS can give an accurate hit count and from where these hits are coming from.

EUROPEAN UNION and international visitors are very important to ITP V.018 and very valued.
Regarding widgets on the blog, I can't confirm what they are doing, as they need to be compliant to the new EU law regarding cookies. Widgets that are non compliant with EUROPEAN UNION  and GDPR internet law will be removed when the link is broken.

Regarding NETWORKED BLOGS, they are discontinuing the widget and overall service.
ITP V.018 will syndicate to FACEBOOK using GOOGLE + or MYSPACE in replacement of NETWORKED BLOGS.

Hi Theresa

Our records show that you have one of our widgets on your blog. We'd like to let you know that we're in the process of stopping all widgets, so please remove them from your blog because they will not render correctly going forward.
This is part of the gradual shutdown of NetworkedBlogs that we started about three years ago. Initially, we stopped accepting new user registrations, and over time we stopped services gradually to reduce the impact on our users. We're at the final stages of the process and will be shutting down the remaining services soon.
We have more details about the background of this and answers to common questions here:

We've had the pleasure of offering this service to you over many years, and we hope we offered something useful and interesting. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Regards,
NetworkedBlogs Team

Check this journal entry for more info regarding the NEW EUROPEAN UNION cookie, GDPR and info law.
Via various widgets and GOOGLE ANALYTICS I can track what town, city, country  ITP readers live in. Via various widgets and GOOGLE ANALYTICS ITP can track your operating system, where you are on the web including FACEBOOK, ISP number ect.

Sounds scary right? I rarely look deeply into ITP reader info unless I need to block a visitor or send a copy right infringement and protecting the blog from a stalking entity.  NOW those people know what I don't tolerate.

With your CONSENT, can we track you?

Facebook’s changes to comply with the European privacy law, the GDPR, go about “one-tenth of the way toward restoring public trust,” says EFF Senior Staff Attorney Nate Cardozo

Whether or not you're in Europe, you're probably still getting a lot of emails because of a new European data privacy law. That's because there's only one day left for compliance, and companies are scrambling.
