Due to CORONA VIRUS mass gathering restrictions, promoters for DONG OPEN AIR 2020 7/9th, 10th and 11th, 2020 Neukirchen-Vluyn, GERMANY have POSTPONED the festival until 2021.
FROM DONG OPEN AIR 2020 PROMOTERS:
Dear Dong fans,
We now have clarity and the scenario that we had to expect in view of the ongoing Corona crisis: the 20. Dong Open Air will not be able to take place as planned from July 9., 2020
The city of Neukirchen-Vluyn has announced today that it will not approve a series of events until October for reasons of infection protection. The Dong Open Air is part of it.
Although this is of course sad news, we welcome this decision, which now allows us to change the course.
We need to give up the original date for the anniversary heavy heart and activate our plan B we have worked out over the past few weeks. We have already presented this plan in our news from last Saturday, but here are the details again - this time in some places:
The good news is that the 20. th Dong will not be cancelled, but will be postponed until July 8., 10., 2021 Let's see it in a positive way - so only the time of anticipation will be extended and the anniversary will definitely be celebrated!
Of course, we are doing everything in our possibilities to take the bands announced for this year with us after 2021 Here it also depends on the circumstances that each band faces itself. It may take a while before we have clarity with each band.
Bottom line, however, we are positively tuned on this construction site. Because other festivals are expected to postpone after 2021, some have already announced that. We are in touch with some European festivals that take place promptly, and they are also considering taking their line-up with them into the coming year when moving. In many cases, it will be the most uncomplicated thing for the bands to simply transfer their summer tour plan to 2021
Even though we don't know what's coming in the wake of this crisis, the tickets already purchased remain valid. And also at possibly. Of course, there will be no additional surcharges for these tickets next year.
You can also order now at the prices so far.
However, given the unclear situation in the entire event industry and the associated service providers, we cannot guarantee that the ticket price will not increase in a few weeks or months.
With other options regarding Tickets already purchased are currently still differently. With a view to the entire German event industry, the federal government is doing this at the moment.
We'll get back to you on this topic if there is clarity. Please refrain from inquiries about this for the time being. Rest assured that we will deal with this very seriously and will get back to you as soon as possible.
This is the first time in the history of Dong Open Air that the festival cannot take place as planned. We hope for your understanding in the background of the extraordinary circumstances that the existing Corona pandemic entails and will be back to you soon. Stay positive and see it like us and our good buddy Buddy
