Hamburg, Germany based death-doom metal warriors OPHIS have revealed the art work and track listing for the bands anticipated new release "ENCASED IN DEATHLIKE LAYERS", due to be unleashed 11/27/2026 via FDA RECORDS.

All Information about the new albumHamburg-based OPHIS return five years after their magnificent album “Spew Forth Odium” with their sixth studio album. The new record was recorded in spring 2026 at 3RD A. Studio in Holm and produced, mixed and mastered by Jens Ballaschke. The cover artwork was created by drummer Ole Fink himself.
You often read statements like: “With this album, they have surpassed everything they have done before.” And quite often, there isn't much truth to that. BUT with their new album, “Encased In Deathlike Layers”, this four-piece Doom institution has actually managed to take things to another level.
Six new songs, clocking in at almost one hour, musically capturing all the misery, suffering and helplessness, but also the power and strength of this world in absolutely perfect fashion. “Encased In Deathlike Layers” is a musical journey into the abysses within each and every one of us, a Doom Metal masterpiece and one of the major highlights of autumn 2026.
“Encased In Deathlike Layers” will be released on November 27th, 2026, as a double vinyl, CD and digital release via FDA Records, distributed by Cargo Records.
In the first week of September, you can expect the first sounds from the album, along with the start of the pre-order.
