WBC, the WEST BORO BAPTIST CHURCH, a fascist, right wing and extremely bigoted religious group known for picketing (with bigoted and obnoxious picket signs) fallen soldiers, victims of violence and entertainers funerals. Also, the WBC are known to picket gay marriages and any type of progressive enlightenment. The WBC planned to protest at VASSAR college, Poughkeepsie, NY describing the elite college as
an "Ivy League Whorehouse."
WBC stated, "On Feb 28th the Westboro Baptist church will be picketing Vassar college "to warn the students, faculty, and alumni that the satanic policies of this nation, especially those of the colleges and universities, are causing God to pour His wrath out upon this nation. Doomed American academics fancy themselves to be smarter than God".
VASSAR college students organized a counterprotest featuring the "Harlem Shake", uniting thousands of college students and raising over $90, 00.00 for the TREVOR PROJECT
a gay pride and anti-suicide support group.

WBC gets owned by the VASSAR COLLEGE HARLEM SHAKE FLASH MOB: WBC came to New Paltz, NY in 2004 around the time of the gay marriages, right in front of New Paltz, mayor Jason West's apt. The whole town (New Paltz, NY) told them (WBC) to fuck themselves and take their bigotry back to Kansas.
Now the WBC made an unwelcome visit to VASSAR, and got owned yet again.
Read WBC's press release and laugh:Perceiving education as "satanic" is silly, however, complementary in my book, as I'm guessing the WBC can't afford the awesome Vassar college with it's mighty college radio station WVKR. WBC bigotry and ignorance is no cheap excuse versus the value of education and the intangible ethic of diversity and tolerance.
Had I known, I would helped to arrange a truly satanic flash mosh to scare the bigotry out of the WBC, and a "kiss in" after the mosh.
