'm excited to announce that the cd pre-order for Mystras' "Empires Vanquished And Dismantled" is now out on bandcamp, released by Stellar Auditorium Productions on November 5, while the vinyl edition will be covered by I, Voidhanger Records as usual in the coming months.
Heavy Blog Is Heavy just did a premiere of the longest piece of the album, the 14 minute "The Fall Of The Kingdom Of Jerusalem". The album deals with the topic of medieval imperialism, following the Mystras motto "Medieval Black Metal Against Empire and Aristocracy". Two songs of the album are themed after the Crusades and "The Fall.." is the culmination of this part of the album, as it speaks about the fall of Jerusalem to Saladin and the eventual dissolution of the early European colonialist project.
Many thanks to Loukas Kalliantasis of "Castles.." that did the wonderful artwork again and of course to the six session musicians (Stamatis Zafeiropoulos, Matthew Dakoutros, Dimitris Corax Avgoustinos, Nina Saeidi, Carling Chiu and Crasse from Toul en Ihuern) without which this project couldn't have been the same.
