Formed in 1983, VADER are a Polish death/thrash band of epic proportions. As communism dissolved, the world opened up its ears to a quality Polish metal scene featuring death metal upstarts BEHEMOTH, DECAPITATED, HATE and DIES IRAE.
VADER vocalist/rhythm guitarist Piotr Wiwczarek joined the band in 1988 as the bands main man. In 2005, VADER drummer Krzysztof "Doc" Raczkowski quit VADER (sprained ankle, family commitments) and died of drug and alcohol related addiction to be replaced by a rotation of quality drummers.

In 2008, VADER bassist NOVY left the band to replaced by former DECAPITATED bassist
Marcin Rygie as Tomasz "Hal" Halicki joined VADER in 2010. Long time VADER guitarists Maurycy "Mauser" Stefanowicz and Darek "Daray" Brzozowski's played their last shows with VADER in 2008. Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka of Polish death metal warriors DECAPITATED joined VADER in 2008 for an interim.
In 2010 and 2011, SPIDER (guitars), HAL (bass) and James Stewart joined the ranks of polish death metal legends VADER.

VADER are death metal legends, as the band, 20 years embedded in the extreme metal scene, are flying the extreme metal flag high and are still unleashing quality and reverent metal.

Here we have VADER's ninth studio release "Welcome to The Morbid Reich" and brutal it is.

VADER's "Welcome to The Morbid Reich" kicks off with the track "Ultima Thule".
"Ultima Thule" evokes an ominous dramatic intro, segueing perfectly into "Return To The Morbid Reich".

VADER's "Return To The Morbid Reich" shapes into some awesome, dramatic brutality with insane drum patterns via ex VADER drummer Pawel Jaroszewicz as the tune evokes a blastgasm, as you and I both know, VADER are at the top of their game for some epic and crushing, riff tastic brutality.

VADER's "The Black Eye" evokes the usual barked rasps via Piotr Wiwczarek with awesome solos via VADER guitarist "Spider". "The Black Eye" twists and turns to mid pace for solos and blasts off into neckbreaking intensity.

VADER's "Come And See My Sacrifice" crushes with some quality rhythm guitar work as at 1:24 the tune blasts into crushing SLAYER esque riffing.

VADER's "Come And See My Sacrifice" features many quality riffs and solos, expect massive pits for this tune.

VADER's "Only Hell Knows" is a relentless barrage of quality riffing, evoking speed, quality solos, a subtle chant along chorus and crushing brutality. "KILL EM ALL!!!!"

VADER's "I Am Who Feasts Upon Your Soul" evokes an ethereal, classically inspired intro before picking up the pace as first the drums, and then the guitar evoke some "brutalful" thrash riffing, perfectly written. "I Am Who Feasts Upon Your Soul" arsenal of riffs communicate volumes of extremity and one could not help to notice the intensity on how the tune is performed, VADER are a tight well oiled machine.

VADER's "Don’t Rip The Beast’s Heart Out" creeps in at mid pace, featuring prominent soloing as the composition segues into a balance of thrash and blastbeats for a swirling barrage of extremity. Like toes on glass, "Don’t Rip The Beast’s Heart Out" evokes a subtle flow of brutality, "Forever!".

VADER's "I Had A Dream…" is typical, uncompromising VADER, shred tastic, with a melodic segment, spoken and shouted vocals, a free flow of extremity with awesome blastbeats.

VADER's "Lord Of Thorns" evokes simple, melodic thrash riffing, performed fast and brutal with awesome twin guitar soloing via "Spider" and Piotr.

"Decapitated Saints" is an old VADER fan favorite, re-recorded as the tune was originally unleashed on the VADER classic 1989 "Necrolust" demo.

VADER's "They Are Coming", an instrumental passage is an adequate breather in between the bone crushing brutality, segueing slowly with female Gregorian chants, and tribal drum beats.

VADER's "Welcome to The Morbid Reich" closes with the track "Black Velvet And Skulls Of Steel" a mind tempo number, perhaps the weakest of the compositions. If fans are interested, the digi/CD version of "Welcome to The Morbid Reich" features two bonus tracks "Raping The Earth" and "Troops Of Tomorrow".

Polish death metal masters VADER are of the "If aint broke, don't fix it" theory, as the fans KNOW what to expect and VADER aren't compromising for anyone. VADER's "Welcome To The Morbid Reich" is a return to the basic musical ideal, the roots of the band featuring "Sothis" era neck breaking intensity with enough riffs and quality guitar solos to cook up a tasty meal of vicious death metal.

VADER have always employed a monopoly on talented extreme metal drummers, as Pawel Jaroszewicz will be missed as he left VADER some big shoes to fill following the recording of "Welcome To The Morbid Reich".

VADER balance tastefully written riffs, with brutality, subtle melody, speed and quality songwriting as VADER are righteous, hard working and consistent.

VADER's "Welcome to The Morbid Reich" is an uncompromising, old school neck-breaker, more technical than the VADER (quality) releases "Impressions in Blood" and "The Art Of War" yet tasteful and well written. VADER's "Welcome to The Morbid Reich" won't alienate the old fans, and is guaranteed to expand to the new school.

Lesson learned, persistence pays off.
