ITP V.014 "NO WORDS" PART ONE: (TRACKS WITH MISHEARD OR NO LYRICS)

Here we are with ITP V.014 "NO WORDS" PART ONE (TRACKS WITH MISHEARD OR NO LYRICS)  as ITP will feature URFAUST's  "Unter Töchtern Der Wüste"  and the legendary Kingsmen rock and roll classic "Louie, Louie".

Belgian based black metal duo URFAUST's  "Unter Töchtern Der Wüste"  was first featured on a 2009 split with JOYLESS via VAN RECORDS.

URFAUST's  "Unter Töchtern Der Wüste" , despite the tracks sparse, necro production features and understated melody,  searing rhythm and lead guitar for a post black metal/rock experimentation anthem performed  impeccably via URFAUST vocalist William.

There's just one thing, does URFAUST's  "Unter Töchtern Der Wüste" feature lyrics or is the song not sung in English? Black metal fans still debate URFAUST's "Unter Töchtern Der Wüste" lyrics, if any at all or if the song is scatted out.

GENERAL CONSENSUS:  URFAUST's  "Unter Töchtern Der Wüste"  is sung, perhaps not in English, coupled with Necro production, the lyrics are incomprehensible and irrelevant as the understated melody will have you chanting or scatting along.

THE KINGSMEN "LOUIE, LOUIE":
1960's beat/garage Portland, Oregon based rock and roll legends THE KINGSMEN pre-dated punk, death, black and extreme metal regarding incomprehensible lyrical phrasing. The KINGSMEN COVERED Richard Berry's 1955 rock tune "Louie, Louie", unleashed in 1963 via JERDEN and a full length on WAND RECORDS.

After perhaps a tumultuous recording session,  THE KINGSMEN covered and recorded the Richard Berry tune in one, regretful take as the bands mediocre performance drove the song to be a top 100 BillBoard hit and cult classic. THE KINGSMEN "Louie, Louie" cover was cult in its raw performance, and every persons drunken party anthem, as anyone can sing it, whatever their interpretation.   JACK ELY's vague vocal phrasing brought THE KINGSMEN "Louie, Louie" to legendary prominence, as no one really knew the original lyrics and couldn't help to make up lyrics of their own , the track was infectious enough to get the kids dancing and drunks, and mature adults to babble and chant along.

FROM WIKEPEDIA:

Despite the band's annoyance at having so little time to prepare, on April 6 at 10 AM the Kingsmen walked into the three-microphone recording studio. In order to sound like a live performance, Ely was forced to lean back and sing to a microphone suspended from the ceiling. "It was more yelling than singing," Ely said, "'cause I was trying to be heard over all the instruments."[8] In addition, he was wearing braces at the time of the performance, further compounding his infamously slurred words.[10] Ely sang the beginning of the third verse several bars too early, but realized his mistake and waited for the rest of the band to catch up. In what was thought to be a warm-up, the song was recorded in its first and only take. The Kingsmen were not proud of the version, but their manager liked the rawness of their cover

The CULT of the KINGSMEN has continued, as recently as 2013, 50 years after the KINGSMEN release, the "misheard lyrics" and public interpretation of "Louie, Louie" was questioned in a 1964 FBI investigation after a Florida, USA teacher wrote to the government complaining that the track featured "Obscene lyrics".  After a two year investigation, the FBI could not find conclusive evidence that the KINGSMEN version of "Louie, Louie" was obscene in lyrical content.

THE KINGSMEN "Louie, Louie" was banned by the Indiana state governor MATTHEW WELSH and many radio stations.

After over 50 years and many mutations, THE KINGSMEN have performed live as recently as 2011.

GENERAL CONSENSUS: Yes, the Richard Berry's 1955 rock tune "Louie, Louie" featured lyrics, tame in comparison to the general public's interpretation. THE KINGSMEN 1963 version of  "Louie, Louie" featured a mumbled vocal performance, left up to the interpretation of a listening audience with no lyric sheet, and charmed by JACK ELY's incomprehensible vocal phrasing.
