ITP V.015 ONLY ONE PER COFFIN: R.I.P. SCOTT WEILAND (STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, VELVET REVOLVER)

Last night, former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and VELVET REVOLVER vocalist SCOTT WEILAND was found dead on his tour bus (while on tour with his band the WILDABOUTS) at 48.








SCOTT WEILAND (and THE WILDABOUTS) unleashed "BLASTER", 3/31/2015 via SOFTDRIVE RECORDS.

SCOTT WEILAND performed on STONE TEMPLE PILOTS self titled release, unleashed 5/21/2010 via ATLANTIC RECORDS.

ITP V.015 EDITORS NOTE: While no cause of Weiland's death has been given, sorry to hear he lost the battle. While NOT that big of a fan of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, SCOTT WEILAND'S talent was undeniable, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS  MTV Unplugged a release of note.

 Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts. At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.

Also, know that you CAN get help and it CAN change if you want it. Trust me. I've been there. Message me if you have questions. I'm not a professional, but I'm happy to listen and offer practical advice. It doesn't always take the first, second, or tenth time, but never give up hope. Never give up on yourself. I've seen that happen too many times, and I don't want to read about any of you becoming a casualty like I did waking up to this news.

We are really sad to hear about Scott Weiland, one of our generations most talented and unique vocalists. You reached a lot of people Scott, including us. You will be missed deeply. STP meant a lot to everyone in the band when we were growing up. The music still means a lot today. Every tour, every show, every practice we end up listening to this, singing along with, or just singing at random times. Everyone has their demons, and whether or not they took him I hope everyone can appreciate and enjoy the great music that Scott Weiland left behind. RIP
