ITP V.017 BIRTHDAYS, ITP V.017 ONLY ONE PER COFFIN: KURT COBAIN WOULD HAVE BEEN 50 TODAY, R.I.P. LARRY CORYELL (JAZZ FUSION GUITARIST)

Today would have been late NIRVANA guitarist/vocalist KURT COBAIN's 50th birthday. KURT COBAIN'S daughter FRANCES BEAN wrote a statement regarding her father's birthday, "You are loved and you are missed, thank you for giving me the GIFT of life".

NIRVANA vocalist/guitarist KURT COBAIN was found dead, 4/8/1994 in his Washington home by an electrician installing a security system in his home.

So far, there is no conclusive evidence to re-open the KURT COBAIN case, ruled a suicide in 1994      (suicide via a shot gun and heroin), although some investigations are still happening as a "cold case".

According to Seattle Police Department spokes woman Renee Witt, "The outcome of the case has not changed".

NIRVANA unleashed "In Utero" (studio release) 9/13/1993 via GEFFEN RECORDS.
NIRVANA re-issued remastered versions of the bands releases.
On December 17, 2013 NIRVANA were inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME.

FROM BLACK ROCK COALITION:
It's been a tough couple of days for those who love music and now comes word that will make it tougher...News is still getting out, but The Black Rock Coalition is sad to report that Larry Coryell, a guitarist and composer of the highest order, has made his transition. Larry was a key figure in what Greg Tate accurately called 'the electrocution of jazz' and collaborated with a number of musicians associated within the BRC ranks including Lenny White and Andre Lassalle.

FROM JACK WALRATH:

R.I.P Larry Coryell. I knew Larry for over forty-five years. He always asked me to play with him when he saw me. Years ago I made a CD on Muse Records called "Out of the Tradition." I asked Joe Fields if Larry might want to play on a track. Not only did he want to, he asked to do the whole record, which he did. He even took the music home and memorized it. He does some things on "Stardust" that are some of the most amazing harmonizations I have heard. Thanks, Larry for your music and being a friend! Larry was going to join us in Mingus' band as a member but Mingus got sick.

FROM MM MUSIC AGENCY:
The great jazz guitarist Larry Coryell just passed away. He was a man and artist who was brimming with life and it was infectious. We will always love you Larry Coryell.

I am so very sorry for the loss of Larry Coryell. He was an inspiring and important musician - a fantastic guitarist and improvisor who will never be replaced. We toured together in Europe, and apart from enjoying his company, which was rich warm and funny he was always great in performance and a generous musical partner.
Bless you Larry you will live for ever...C'mon man....
