FROM NACHTMYSTIUM: Over the last couple of weeks, Nachtmystium has been going through the vaults of our old demo tape masters, rehearsal tapes from all eras of the band, finding versions of songs from all the full-lengths with completely different mixes, vocals, etc. It's all different and we're having a great time digging through all of this stuff and also finding ourselves rather surprised at how much of it is actually 'listenable'. So, we're going to compile a bunch of this stuff for you fans and find a way to release it digitally ourselves or perhaps stream the stuff at various host sites. Its representation of spirits and daemons are keys to unlocking gateways of the psyche; they eliminate meaning and structure of the rational mind so to free the self to be brought into the infinite realm of darkness. This takes place in the Astral Nightside and Regnum Spiritus (the spirit world). Much like in dreams, a breaking of continuity and hyper-association is found in the music. Influences are taken from workings with well-known grimoires such as The Goetia and the Necronomicon and more contemporary works such as those by Ea Koetting and Michael W. Ford. The music is to serve as guided imagery for astral projection; much of the content is either an astral journey or ritual. Forest Samhain is one such ritual which takes place on the day of and in the place of its title; this is a ritual of necromancy and darkness. The full-length title Caduceus Chalice is a reference to masculine and feminine symbolism which is used in numerous areas of the occult. They are used as such in the Rider-Waite Tarot deck and in Goetic Witchcraft. The chalice also represents introspection and the Astral Nightside; the song "Chalice" is one such journey into its abysmal depths. Form and Style MOON's music thus far has been recorded by Miasmyr in his own basement studio. The approach to self-production aids in introspective expression. Many of the songs have grown over a period in atmosphere and character; it is this building of spirit that makes the music strong. Often, the density is stripped back to help the layers and parts come through effectively. There is a combination of blending and layering parts to form unique timbres and tones. Effects on keyboards, guitar and vocals are vehicles only for the creation of a brooding sound; it is the drive of the arcane spirit that directs the development of the music. The use of repetition and subtle development is a means to draw the listener into a hypnotic state. The different instrumental parts often play as entities, subtly influencing the dimension set up in the mind of the listener. Use of reverb creates space for the music to live and breathe, giving a cavernous echo to the sound overall. The choirs are a dominant and atmospheric element which has remained part of MOON's sound from the beginning; they are characterized as spirits invoking the listener into a bleak and arcane demise and build greater dimension to this sanctum of unlife. SIGH will tour CHINA later this year. FROM SIGH: Sigh - "In Somniphobia" update "In Somniphobia" is a sonic nightmare that lasts for more than an hour. The musical direction is pretty much far from that of the last two albums, "Scenes from Hell" and "Hangman's Hymn". It is not easy to describe its direction, but probably one can say that it is something between "Imaginary Sonicscape", "Hail Horror Hail" and "Gallows Gallery", or rather, simply a nightmarish version of "Imaginary Sonicscape". Put heavy metal, classical music, jazz, Indian traditional music, Stockhausen, and Xenakis into a cauldron of hell and stir it, you'll get "In Somniphobia". The first two songs are VERY heavy metal, but from the third track, it begins. Five songs are woven together, which part is named "Lucid Nightmares". It is a pure sonic description of nightmares. This is surrealistic, ethnic, druggy, atmospheric and definitely scary! Lots of vintage gems are being used such as Minimoog, Prophet-5, Clavinet D-6, Roland RE-201 Space Echo etc. along with some ethnic instruments like Indian Sarangi, Sitar, Tampura, and Tabla. Kam Lee (ex-Massacre, Bone Gnawer etc.) and Metatron (The Meads of Asphodel) cooperated with the lyrics and the vocals for "Lucid Nightmares". Listen with Headphones is strictly recommended. Hole In The Sky has since 2005 had a successful marked area during the main part of the festival at USF Verftet.

Please notice this includes only Friday and Saturday.

This indoor venue holds several different rooms, and the marked room is called Sardinen USF (ca 280 m2 and capacity 500).

Booking inquiries: Please do not send promo packages via mail, do not send large attachments via mail and please do not make first-time inquiries by phone. We ask that you respect our working methods, which consist of approaching interesting artists on our own initiative - sometimes via links received via mail, of course (Myspace pages, streamings etc).

Accreditation for media: The Festival reserves the right to limit passes to serious and well-documented journalists, and to an absolute minimal number of passes per journalist. We live in a world where everybody has their own magazine, so please bear with us that we have to be strict with accreditations to be able to arrange a festival at all. The accreditation is only for the 28 – 29th of August at the USF Verftet venue, which are the main days of the festival. We have only limited accreditations for the 25 – 27th of August at the Garage club venue. If you want to cover the club dates, it's best to get tickets beforehand since we can't promise accreditation for these dates.

Photopasses: There are no photo pits at the Garage venue, so no photo pass is needed there. At USF Verftet, we can only give out a limited number of photo passes. Official photos will be provided by Hole In The Sky.
