Norwegian black metallers Dimmu Borgir have recently been confirmed for this year’s Bloodstock Festival, alongside UK death metal champsBloodshot Dawn, Vinnie Paul’s HELLYEAH, progressive death metal troupeDe Profundis and London’s extreme metal mavericks Aghast!
With BLOODSTOCK just twenty weeks away, there’s still plenty to announce as yet more bands rack up for this year’s event at Catton Park! There’s no such thing as too much metal, with even more riffs coming your way on both the Ronnie James Dio main stage and the big top Sophie Lancaster stage.
Norse black metal standard-bearers, DIMMU BORGIR are set to be Friday’s main stage special guest and will be playing their only UK show in 2014 at BLOODSTOCK. The band are hard at work on new material planned for release later this year. Maybe they’ll even showcase something new at Catton Park! Hot on the heels of last week’s band announcement, BLOODSTOCK can now unveil a further seven bands locked in to play at Catton Park this August.
BLOODSTOCK are delighted to welcome Norwegian “blackjazz” act SHINING, who will grace the main Ronnie James Dio Stage on Friday. SHINING are an intriguing, avant garde mix of jazz, prog, and metal, citing varied influences from John Coltrane to Nine Inch Nails.

Bringing their jiggery to Friday’s Sophie Lancaster Stage are folk metal pioneers, SKYCLAD. The band played the first ever BLOODSTOCK at Derby’s Assembly Rooms back in 2001 and are very much looking forward to getting a ‘jig-pit’ going once again at BOA 2014. Guitarist Steve Ramsey is already appearing with his ‘other’ band SATAN, who headline Sunday’s Sophie stage.
