SXSW FEST 2014 3/7-16 AUSTIN, TEXAS: CAR ACCIDENT NEAR VENUES PLOW THROUGH CROWD, 2 DEAD, 23 HURT

Tragic news coming in from SXSW (FEST), Austin, Texas. A speeding car, driving the wrong way down a one way street while chased by police plowed through temporary barricades and a blocked street of concert goers/ pedestrians killing two and injuring 23.
According to the BROOKLYN VEGAN and other news agencies, the accident happened just a outside club MOHAWK and just a few blocks from RED 7 where the BROOKLYN VEGAN had a showcase.

The suspected driver of the accident at SXSW FEST 2014 Fest (male), jumped out of his car and fled until police chased him down, and tasered him. Rumors the driver was drunk are unconfirmed.
No more information, nor a statement from SXSW promoters are available at this time. ITP V.014 will keep you posted, as more info will be updated via this journal entry.

UPDATE: 5:14 AM EST-USA: The suspect in the driver/pedestrian vehicular homicide incident has been charged with capital murder. .

I was not out this morning when a drunk driver evaded police and plowed into a crowd of SXSW fest-goers outside of the Mohawk nightclub, killing two and injuring 23.

I decided to stay in last night and get some work done on the Housecore Horror Film Festival. Ironically, I had penned in two shows at the Mohawk (Les Claypool & Crosses (Chino Moreno of Deftones)), but those would have ended almost two hours before the crash.

My condolences to the couple was lost their lives and to those injured at the scene. May all of you who were injured recover quickly.
