A fan (known as ALBERTO SCOTT ) died stage diving during a 5/3/2014 WEBSTER HALL (STUDIO), NYC, NY SHOW featuring mall-core band MISS MAY I.
More info later.
The stage diving fan dived, as no one caught him in the pit, and died from injuries sustained.
MISS MAY I, known only as a "mallcore" or "metalcore" band unleashed "Rise Of The Lion" 4/25/2014 via RISE RECORDS.
ITP V.014 EDITORS NOTE: I'm NOT a fan of said band nor sub genre, as this incident may screw up future heavier shows at said venue as it is unfortunate that there is no pit etiquette among the "mallcore hipsters".
Here in the new millenium, there is different culture to concert and mosh pit etiquette, as now people are filming shows on their smart phones, blissfully and naively not aware of the pit. There is also the indelible "pit rules", "for your own safety": so you see crowd surfer, let others KNOW, be in the know, ne a COMMUNITY, YELL: "DIVER! IN COMING, CROWD SURFER!": When a mosh pit is ACTIVE, no one is really watching the band, unless they have an awesome light, stage production or theatrical show, they're in the pit, focused towards that circle, and occupied with that, as they should be as the music is a soundtrack in the back round. In the context of a mosh pit opening up, it's NOT a good idea to stage dive (while most are moshing) if at least 60 eyes aren't focused on you, there fore the stage diving dance before someones dives, it gets the attention of the audience let them KNOW your're going to dive, be under 200 lbs, and the pit has to be packed liked sardines and barely moving in the front to dive. The audience may be to focused moshing and may not peek up to see a stage diver coming or even crows surfers..
Tragic, R.I.P. to ALBERTO SCOTT.

FROM THE METAL MELTDOWN WITH IAN WEBER 90.FM WKRB FM (BROOKLYN, NYC, NY):
What a weekend it's been for attendees at the Miss May I's "Rise of the Lion" record release concert at The Studio at Webster Hall at that experienced something utterly eye opening yesterday evening when Alberto Scott, a 21 year old metal fan, lost his life at the show. I'm writing this this because no parent should ever have to bury their child.
My thoughts and condolences are with his family and with everyone effected by this tragic event.
In the bigger picture, Derek Soto from Sinestra Studios collected favorite Alberto memories in trbute to him from a few of people who knew him by association or was a close friend of his, and you can read it here and check out some great photographs Derek took of Miss May I too: http://www.sinestrastudios.net/?p=2352.
